In  June/July 2014 Dr. Stefan M. Schiller has won the

"Nächste Generation biotechnologischer Verfahren - Biotechnologie 2020+"-Prize


awarded from the Bundesministerium für Forschung und Wissenschaft (BMBF) since 2012 in a cycle of two years

for the concept and work on:

"Modularer Produktionsorganismus & dessen funktionelle Expansion mit artifiziellen de novo Organellen & Enzymredesign – neue Chemie in „alten Zellen“ (Modular production organism & the functional expansion with artificial de novo organelles & enzyme redesign - new chemistry in 'old cells')

The prize will support the respective work of his scientific group for up to 5 years by financing 1 group leader position and 2 postdoc, 1 - 2 PhD student and 1 - 2 technical assistant positions and appropriate tangible means.
